The BYU men's tennis team has three players slated to compete at the Bengal Invitational in Chubbuck, Idaho, Oct. 4-5.

PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s tennis heads to Idaho for the Bengal Invitational hosted by Idaho State University on Oct. 4-5. 

The Cougars will send three athletes to compete in the tournament: David Duong, Otto Schreiner and Alex Edmonston.

The Bengal Invitational will be the three players’ third tournament of the year as they are all coming off a weekend competing at the Bedford Cup in Colorado. Each of the Cougars will compete in the singles draw. Schreiner and Edmonston will team up as a doubles team for the first time this year for the doubles draw.

Schools Competing (6): BYU, Idaho State, Montana State, Utah, Utah State, and Eastern Washington

Format: Singles and doubles will be a tournament draw with one round consolation for first-round losers. Singles main draw matches will be best two out of three tiebreak sets with no ad scoring. Singles consolation will be two sets, with a match tiebreak if needed. Doubles main draw and consolation matches will be first to eight, with a tiebreak at eight all. There will also be one round of consolation doubles. 

Duong has yet to lose a singles match in fall play. He has gone 4-0 through his two tournaments. He was eliminated at the Bedford Cup due to injury but has not dropped a match he has played in.

Schreiner holds a 7-1 doubles record in the fall season with teammate TJ Wells. He teams up with Edmonston for the first time who has now played with three different doubles partners throughout the tournaments. They will look to build momentum as the lone Cougar pairing in the doubles.
