PROVO, Utah – Wally Thayne and Zach Fuchs begin play at the NCAA individual championship in Waco, Texas on Wednesday. The pair qualified for the tournament, as the first doubles team in 20 years to compete at the NCAA’s, after making the finals of their Fall Sectional.
The Cougars were able to rattle off two top-15 wins in their last three matches. They beat the No. 10 team from Washington and the No. 13 team from the University of California-Berkeley. They have gone 6-2 in their Fall Season play and have won their last three in a row.

Format: The doubles bracket is made up of 32 teams from across all the conferences. The players will play one round each day until the tournament concludes.
The Cougars have a first-round matchup against a team from the University of Texas. The team includes Timo Legout and Lucas Brown. Brown was ranked no. 30 in the first rankings of the preseason but was paired with a different partner. BYU will be facing the best competition in the nation throughout the week of play.
