IRVING, Texas – Peter Kim earned his first Big 12 Men’s Golfer of the Month award, the Big 12 Conference announced on Thursday afternoon.
Kim recorded an impressive month of October to claim the first Big 12 Men’s Golfer of the Month honor in BYU history.
The Salt Lake City native finished tied for 12th at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, went 3-2 at the Big 12 Match Play to help the Cougars take home the team title and concluded the month at the Leadership and Golf Collegiate where he tied for third.
Kim shot 4-under at the Leadership and Golf Collegiate in part to his bogey-free first round. Over the three days, the sophomore made nine birdies and an eagle on the par-5 18th hole in the final round.
Overall, Kim posted a scoring average of 72.33 over six rounds of play, including three rounds of those rounds at or under par.
