FRISCO, Texas — Highlighted by All-Big 12 defensive back Jakob Robinson's strong performance, seven additional BYU players from last season's 11-2 team completed workouts for NFL teams this week at the 2025 Big 12 Pro Day in Frisco, Texas.
The NFL workouts conducted Thursday included conference defensive backs, wide receivers, running backs, tight ends, and quarterbacks. Cougar cornerbacks Robinson and Marque Collins, wide receiver Darius Lassiter, quarterback Gerry Bohanon and tight ends Mason Fakahua, Keanu Hill and Ray Paulo represented BYU on Thursday to follow their offensive and defensive linemen teammates who participated on Wednesday, including first-team all-conference players Tyler Batty and Caleb Etienne.
The event, which concluded with specialists on Friday, was conducted in the Ford Center at The Star, a 12,000-seat stadium that serves as the practice facility for the Dallas Cowboys on the campus of its world headquarters. This year's Big 12 Pro Day featured more than 200 conference players showcasing their abilities doing combine tests and position workouts for nearly 300 NFL scouts and personnel representing all 32 NFL teams.
Robinson, a 2024 All-Big 12 Second Team honoree, demonstrated his speed with a 4.39 time in the 40-yard dash and athleticism that strongly complement his ball-hawking skills that helped him put up 21 pass breakups and 11 interceptions, including one pick six, during his college career. Experienced playing corner, nickel and safety, Robinson's 4.39 was second among all defensive backs at Big 12 Pro Day and third fastest overall, earning the attention of NFL personnel. In addition to his straight-line speed, Robinson also recording a 10'5" broad jump and elevated to a 38.5-inch vertical, just an inch behind the best mark by a defensive back at Big 12 Pro Day. His 7.01 time in the three-cone drill tied for No. 8 among the 42 defensive backs.
Collins, who received 2024 All-Big 12 honorable mention at cornerback, also jumped and moved well, notching a 35-inch vertical and was one of just four defensive backs at Big 12 Pro Day to clock a 20-yard shuttle time under 4.2 seconds (4.15). Collins also had a sub-seven second three-cone drill time at 6.95, tied for second among the defensive backs. The Weber State transfer joined Robinson in putting in a solid workout during the position drills, as both BYU corners demonstrating their cover abilities in the secondary. Like Robinson, Collins excelled at creating takeaways during his career at BYU and Weber State, recording seven interceptions to go along with 28 pass breakups.
