FRISCO, Texas — Seven former BYU offensive and defensive linemen, including first-team all-conference players Tyler Batty and Caleb Etienne, participated Wednesday in the first on-field workouts at the 2025 Big 12 Pro Day taking place in Frisco, Texas.

Conducted in the Ford Center at The Star, a 12,000-seat stadium that serves as the practice facility for the Dallas Cowboys on the campus of its world headquarters, the Big 12 Pro Day this year features more than 200 conference players showcasing their abilities doing combine tests and position workouts for nearly 300 NFL scouts and personnel representing all 32 NFL teams. Offensive linemen, defensive linemen and linebackers took their turn on the field on Wednesday.

Batty, who previously attended the annual NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, conducted position workouts and participated in meetings with NFL personnel during the Big 12 Pro Day while letting stand his results at the Combine. During the Combine, Batty recorded a 4.78 40-yard dash, 34-inch vertical leap, 10-foot broad jump, 7.21 three-cone drill, 4.54 20-yard shuttle and 27 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.

Etienne, who started at left tackle in 2024 for the Cougars after playing right tackle in 2023, posted strong results to consistently rank among the best of the 32 offensive linemen participating in the workouts. Showing his agility and athleticism even with his large 6-7, 329-pound frame, Etienne tied for the top broad jump (9’6”), had the third-best 40-yard dash (5.01), tied for No. 3 in the vertical leap (30), had the third-most bench reps to rank tied for No. 5 in the event (30), demonstrated the fifth-best reach block (9.37), ranked No. 10 in both the pull drill (14.58) and pass rush drop (6.16) and was 12th in the 3-cone drill (7.94).

Center Connor Pay and right tackle Brayden Keim joined Etienne in the day’s first session, with Keim limiting his participation to the bench and position workouts while completing his recovery from a season-ending injury. Keim, a 2024 All-Big 12 honorable mention selection, pushed up 22 reps in the bench press and Pay recorded 23 reps, which was the seventh-most reps posted by offensive linemen to rank tied for 14th overall among his peers. A team captain and CFN All-Big 12 honorable mention center, Pay also had the seventh-highest vertical jump to rank No. 10 overall among offensive linemen in the event with a 27.5-inch leap.

Defensive tackles John Nelson and Blake Mangelson and defensive end Isaiah Bagnah followed the offensive linemen onto the field for drills before being joined by Batty for the defensive line position workouts.

Some of the highlights included Nelson’s 4.94 time in the 40-yard dash, which tied for ninth among the 42 defensive linemen, while Bagnah’s 4.97 and Mangelson’s 5.01 were ranked 14th and 16th overall. Nelson’s 33-inch vertical leap was tied for sixth, while Bagnah jumped at 30 inches and Mangelson just below at 29.5. Nelson added the seventh-best broad jump among defensive linemen at 9’10” and put up 25 reps on the bench press to rank No. 9 while Mangelson pushed up 22 reps. Mangelson, who earned 2024 All-Big 12 honorable mention at defensive line, ranked No. 8 in the shuttle run (4.58), while Bagnah was 10th in the 3-cone drill (7.4).

Seven other Cougars—defensive backs Jakob Robinson and Marque Collins, receiver Darius Lassiter, quarterback Gerry Bohanon and tight ends Keanu Hill, Mason Fakahua and Ray Paulo—will take their turns conducting workouts with NFL teams on Thursday.
