IRVING, Texas — Following the conclusion of the 2025 Gymnastics Big 12 Championship, Brynlee Andersen and Eliza Millar-Crossman were honored by the conference with Big 12 yearly awards. Andersen brought home BYU’s first-ever Big 12 Event Specialist of the Year honors, while Millar-Crossman earned her second-straight Scholar Athlete of the Year honors.
Being named to the All-Big 12 Beam Team earlier this week, Andersen currently sits at No. 18 nationally with an NQS of 9.905. The Orem, Utah native is also ranked second in the Big 12 on beam, notching three Event Specialist of the Week honors and six scores above 9.9 this season. Andersen’s season-high of 9.950 came at BYU’s first home meet of the season against SUU.
With a 3.98 GPA in neuroscience, Millar-Crossman earned her second-straight Big 12 Gymnastics Scholar Athlete of the Year award. Competing on beam in every meet this season and floor in all but one meet, the Cincinnati, Ohio native has notched 15 total scores of 9.8 or above. Only two of her 11 floor routines have scored below 9.8, making her one of BYU’s most consistent competitors.
The Cougars competed in the First Session of the Big 12 Championship earlier today, scoring a 196.275 for the top score of the meet, fourth place overall. Andersen scored a 9.875 on beam and a 9.8 on floor while Millar-Crossman scored a 9.850 on beam and 9.825 on floor.
BYU now awaits its placing for the NCAA Regionals. The teams, all-around competitors and individual event specialists will be announced on Monday, March 24, 2025, before regional competition. The Selection Show will air on ESPNU at 10 a.m. MT.
