KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Simon Kwon and Tyson Shelley were named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators in the men’s at-large category on Tuesday morning.

Juniors Kwon and Shelley were recognized as Academic All-District Men’s At-Large honorees, both of whom have shown greatness on the course and in the classroom.

To qualify, a student-athlete must hold a GPA of 3.5 or higher, be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically and must have participated in at least 70 percent of the team’s scoring or competed in the conference championship lineup.

Kwon holds a 3.55 as a finance major. The junior participated in all of the Cougars' tournaments, highlighted by two second-place finishes at the Arizona NIT, where he shot a career-best 13-under 203, and the Lamkin Invitational.

Hailing from Salt Lake City, communications studies major Shelley earned a 3.93 GPA. The junior led his team at the Big 12 Match Play, going 5-0 in his matches.
