The Cougars bounced back from their doubles loss against TCU with another Big 12 doubles point. This brings their total on the season to 4-1 in Big 12 doubles play. BYU got started early, finishing on court three first with two breaks coming from Wells and Goldammer and a 6-2 win. On Court one, No. 44 Thayne and Fuchs got an early break in their set and never looked back, holding throughout and winning 6-3. This earned the first point of the match in favor of the Cougars.
Chodur won the lone singles match for BYU in a three-set match. The first set was filled with holds as neither could break throughout the entire set. This forced a tiebreak in which they each kept winning their service points. It wasn’t until 5-5 that Chodur was able to finish the set. The first break of serve came early in the second set as Chirita broke Chodur. Both players held throughout the rest. The third set mirrored this nearly identically, this time in Chodur’s favor as he finished the match 7-6, 3-6, 6-3.
