PROVO, Utah – The Cougars are set to compete at the UVU Invitational at Hal Wing Track and Field Thursday, March 26.
The men’s throws group will be spearheaded by Mark Bryant, coming off his first collegiate appearance where he won the discus at the Utah Tech invitational less than a week earlier where he threw for 52.22m/171-4. The redshirt freshman is set to make his collegiate debut in the hammer throw where he will compete alongside his brother Erik Bryant and teammate Tyler Poole.
Carter Cutting will make his 2026 outdoor season debut in the 1500-meter in his first appearance since being crowned national champion in the indoor mile just two weeks earlier. The junior will be joined by all-american Isaac Hedengren, Caleb Johnson, Luke Grundvig, Noah Jenkins, Hunter Kitchen, Land Lambert, Dalton Mortensen and Jacob Stanford.
The distance crew will also feature Jackson Henstrom, Jefferson McMullin, Max Davis, Kitchen and Garrett Stanford in the first 3000-meter steeplechase of the outdoor season for the Cougars.
Brayden Packard and Jacob Robison will appear in the 800-meter to represent the middle distance squad.
BYU will be joined at the meet by host Utah Valley, Snow College, Utah State, Westminster, Southern Utah, Idaho State, Weber State and Northwest Nazarene.
