McMullin and Cutting finish first at UVU invitational

OREM, Utah – Jefferson McMullin and Carter Cutting won the steeplechase and the 1500-meter respectively Thursday afternoon at the UVU outdoor Invitational.

In the first appearance in the 3000-meter steeplechase for the Cougars this season, McMullin crossed the line in 9:10.46 taking first overall. The sophomore was joined shortly thereafter by Garrett Stanford who finished second in 9:14.43 with Max Davis taking third in 9:16.38. Jackson Henstrom also competed, taking 6th.

Cutting, who was paced in his performance by Caleb Johnson, took first overall in a time of 3:46:53. Isaac Hedengren finished second 3:50.48 with teammate Hunter Kitchen taking third crossing the line in 3:55.51. Noah Jenkins took eighth and Land Lambert took nineth.
