DALLAS — No. 78 women’s golf’s (296-303–599) 15-over-par second round on Friday brought it to 10th place at 23-over par in the Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship at Dallas Athletic Club.
“Hoping to regroup and give a better effort tomorrow,” head coach Carrie Roberts said. “We didn't manage the wind very well today.”
The top three remained the same from Thursday. Houston (285-287–572) maintained its first-place spot with a 4-under-par scorecard through 36 holes. UCF (287-289–576) finished the day at even par to hold second then Iowa State (293-285–578) in third at 2-over par. Arizona State (294-287–581) at 5-over par followed by Oklahoma State (293-290–583) at 7-over par held down the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, to round out the top-5.
Lily McCauley (73-72–145) crept herself inside the top-15 to a share of 13th after an even-par round two. The senior made four birdies on the back nine. At 1-over par, McCauley became the top Cougar going into the final round.
Ava Schroeder (71-75–146) posted a 2-over par in 36 holes to be tied for 19th with one round to go. Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan (74-77–151) ended Friday tied for 42nd at 5-over par.
Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul (78-79–157) recorded a 13-over par in her two rounds for a tie for 60th, and Whitney Banz’s (78-81–159) 15-over par puts her in 64th.
The final round of the 54-hole event for the Cougars tees off at 8:10 a.m. MDT. Live coverage of the round will begin at 10:30 a.m. on ESPN+, with live scoring and other updates will be posted on Scoreboard, Instagram, and X.
