- Prepped at Timpview high School under Brenna Perry and Amy Chapman
- Club: Utah Valley Aquatics under current BYU coach Shari Skabelund
- 4A Utah State Champion in the 50 and 100 freestyle
- 4A State Champion in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays
- Junior National Qualifier
- Part of six state-record-setting relay teams
- Timpview High School swim team captain
- Also recruited by Colorado Mesa and Utah
Personal:
- Son of Grant and Shari Skabelund
- Has one brother and two sisters
- Sister Analyn Skabelund swam for BYU
- Eagle Scout
- Currently serving in the Samoa Apia Mission (July 2018)
