- Was Academic All-State selection in swimming and diving, was a member of the National Honor Society and spent three years on the high honor roll
- Named Spanish Scholar of the Year in 1992 and English Scholar of the Year in 1993
- Dove for Wasatch Canyon Diving Club and participated in the Utah Summer Games
- Coached by Rod Horton at THS and Kurt Warnecke at WCDC
