- Favorite event is 200 backstroke
- Placed in state for track
- Is an Eagle Scout
- Enjoys unicycling and training horses
- Married Amanda in July of 2013

- Prepped at Mountain Crest High under Yolanda Bates
- Broke all school and pool records as well as six region records and four state records
- Won region all four years of high school
- State champion seven times
- Swimmer of the Year two times
- 14 time All-American
- Jr. National finalist and Sectional finalist
- Top-ten national rankings in five events
- Deseret News Athlete of the Week
