BYU Coaching Accomplishments
- In first season at BYU (2024-25), coached sprints and fly
- Coached BYU swimmers to three All-Big 12 honors and five school records
- Helped coach Mackenzie Miller Lung to two All-American finishes, including 200 Breast national runner-up, giving the Cougars their best national finish (23rd, 29 pts) since 1991

- Head Coach of All-Stars at Zones for Team Wisconsin (2023-24)
- Senior Chair of Wisconsin Swimming Board (2023-24)
- Assistant Coach of USA Swimming's Zone Select Camps (2022-23)
- Head Coach of Woodson Y Northern Swimmers club (2018-24; Wausau, Wisconsin)
- Established the club through a merger of a USA team and YMCA team.
- Let age group swimmers to break team records, secure state titles and post a Wisconsin Girl's 10 and under Swimmer of the Year honor
- Head Coach of DC Everest High School boy's and girl's swimming (2015-19; Wausau, Wisconsin)
- Doubled the size of the boy's roster
- Created a boy's middle school program to feed the future of the high school team
- DC Everest athletes broke every school record during her tenure
- Won multiple Wisconsin Valley Conference Coach of the Year honors in both boy's and girl's swimming
- Head Coach of Edgewood Country Club (2007-13; Walled Lake, Michigan)
- Grew the team fro its 15 inital swimmers to over 100 in a few short seasons
- Head Coach of Walled Lake Middle School swimming (2012-13; Walled Lake, Michigan)
- Head Coach of Walled Lake Western High School girl's swimming (2008-12; Walled Lake, Michigan)
Swimming Career
- Swam at BYU (2001-02) following prep career at Southridge High School in Aloha, Oregon
- Teammates with current BYU head coach Tamber McAllister

Personal
- Melissa and her husband, Brian, are the parents of children Carly and JJ
- Served 18-month full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Campinas, Brazil (2004-05)
