Before BYU
- Totaled 189 kills, 144 digs, 71 aces and 35 total blocks for UH from 2022-24
- In the 2024 season, Thiim appeared in all 30 of Hawaii’s matches, with 14 starts at outside hitter
- Played for Santa Barbara Community College in 2020, appearing in 10 matches while averaging 2.82 kills per set and 1.33 digs per set
Personal
- Parents are Kanai Thiim and Eva Wilton
- Has a vertical jump of 45 inches
- Comes from a long line of collegiate volleyball players as his grandfather is former UH head coach Mike Wilton (1992-2009), who is the program’s all-time winningest coach
- Mike Wilton was also an assistant for the BYU men's volleyball team from 2009-2015
- Wilton and Rick Olmstead (Shawn's father) were college roomates at the Church College of Hawaii (now reffered to as BYU-Hawaii)
- Thiim’s uncle is Aaron Wilton (1994-97), who was an All-American for the Warriors, while his cousin Larry Tulieta is also a former Warrior who played as libero from 2017-2018
