- Went to Gilbert High School and played for Jeff Grover
- Three-year varsity letterman
- Three-time first-team all-league
- Led the Tigers to their first ever state championship in 2012
- Two-time first-team all-state
- Recorded more than 1,000 kills in high school career
Junior College
- Played for coach Travis Turner at Orange Coast College
- Earned honor roll in three of four semesters
- 2013 Male Athlete of the Year
- Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year
- Led OCC to first CCCAA championship since 1994
- Finished with 4.08 kills per set, .365 hitting percentage, 84 digs and 25 blocks
- Had a season-high 31 kills against Golden West College
