Prior to BYU
- Ranked No. 1 in Utah, top 10 in the Intermountain and top 150 nationally out of high school
- Suffered only one loss throughout high school career and was a four-year varsity letter winner
- Competed at state championship sophomore year and won state championship her junior and senior year at No. 1 singles spot
- Finished senior season with 13-0 record amd made it to round of 16 at West Coast Nationals.
Personal
- Daughter of Mikko and Monica Valimaki
- Has two older siblings, Sami and Timo
- Father (Mikko) was a member of the track and field team at BYU and earned All-American honors in the hammer throw
- Involved in HOSA, National Honors Society, Operation Smile and Varsity Letter Club while at Orem High School
