Helped team to a silver medal in the Pan America games
When the US Olympic qualifying team failed to qualify for the 1972 Olympics in Munich, she switched to high jump and went to the Olympic trials in track, clearing 1.70 meters (5-7.00)
Coached the MiraCosta women’s volleyball team to state champion honors twice and three second-place finishes
Was five-time Community College Coach of the Year
Competed at Cal State Northridge from 1970 to 1973 and was a member of the LA track club, USA national volleyball team and CSUN volleyball and basketball teams while doing student teaching
Coached volleyball, softball and tennis at Reseda High School for three years
After 32 years of teaching PE and health science, she retired in 2005 and enjoys golf, tennis and horses on her ranch
