BYU finished the season passing for more than 200 passing yards in every game this season with 274 tonight against Hawai’i. The Cougars have gone for 200+ in 15 consecutive games, dating back to the 2018 season. It is the longest streak since 19 in a row across the 2007-08 seasons.

Sacks
BYU entered the game with just 12 sacks all year and racked up a season-best five against the Rainbow Warriors.

Record vs. Hawaii
BYU’s record drops to 21-9 against Hawai’i and 13-9 against the Rainbow Warriors at Aloha Stadium. The last time Hawai’i defeated the Cougars was in 2001, when current head coach Nick Rolovich quarterbacked the Rainbow Warriors. It snapped a string of five consecutive wins by BYU.

BYU head coach Kalani Sitake drops to 2-1 in bowl games, suffering his first loss.

PLAYER NOTES
JJ Nwigwe
The senior defensive end played his best game as a Cougar in his last, finishing with four tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. The sacks were his first two of the year.

Matt Bushman
Bushman had six receptions for 91 yards in the game, giving him more than 600 for the year, finishing with a career-best 688 in three seasons.  

Zach Wilson
Wilson finished the game 24 of 40 for 274 yards and two interceptions. He rushed the ball 14 times for 72 yards and two touchdowns. It was his first game with multiple touchdowns on the ground.
