Men’s basketball opens Battle 4 Atlantis on Wednesday against USC

PROVO – BYU opens the Bad Bay Movers Battle 4 Atlantis on Wednesday, November 23, when the Cougars take on USC at Imperial Arena in Paradise Island, Bahamas. Tip is schedule for 3 p.m. MST/5 p.m. EST. 

Wednesday’s contest will be broadcast on ESPN2. Greg Wrubell and Mark Durrant will also be on the call on the BYU Sports Network on BYU Radio Sirius XM 143 and KSL 102.7/1160 AM.

BYU Notes (3-1, 0-0 WCC)

  • Four Cougars reached double figures as BYU improved to 3-1 on the season on Saturday evening with a 87-73 victory over Nicholls at the Marriott Center.
  • Gideon George recorded his first double-double of the season and fourth of his career against the Colonels, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
  • With its win on Saturday, BYU improved to 16-3 when Fousseyni Traore scores in double figures.
  • BYU enters the week ranking in the Top 50 in the nation in three statistical categories: offensive rebounds per game (46th), defensive rebounds per game (33rd) and blocks per game (29th).

  • Drew Peterson does it all for the Trojans as the fifth-year senior leads the team in scoring (15.8), rebounding (7.8) and assists (8.0). He was on triple-double alert against Mount St. Mary’s finishing with 15 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds.
  • The Trojans rank fourth in the nation in blocks per game with 7.3 rejections per game.
