BYU vs. San Diego Game Notes

PROVO, Utah — After Thursday’s 78-43 home win vs. Pepperdine, BYU women’s basketball is 15-11, 10-5 on the year and remains tied with Saint Mary’s for second place in the West Coast Conference standings.

The Cougars host San Diego (14-12, 7-8) Saturday, Feb. 17, at 12 p.m. MST. The game will be carried live on BYUtv and on the internet at byutv.org.

ABOUT BYU

  • Has had 24 games with at least two players finishing with double-digit points, including four in the home win over Pepperdine Thursday night. 
  • Averages 68.1 points and 39.0 rebounds while shooting 41.9 percent from the field, 33.0 percent from the 3-point line and 66.9 percent from the charity stripe.
  • Nationally, BYU ranks seventh in both blocked shots and in blocked shots per game.
  • Senior guard Cassie Broadhead Devashrayee ranks seventh in free throw attempts and fifth in both free throws made and in minutes played.

  • The Toreros have compiled a 14-12, 7-8 record and are in sixth place in the WCC. They are coming off a two-point, 62-60 loss at Pacific Thursday night.
  • USD swept the series vs. Portland & has wins over BYU, USF, SCU, LMU and PEP in league play.
  • On the road, the Toreros have a 3-4 mark in conference games.
  • San Diego is scoring 65.3 points and grabbing 36.4 rebounds per game. The team shoots 42.0 percent from the field, 30.6 percent from 3-point range and 69.8 percent from the free-throw line.
