With a 7-2 record and a five-game winning streak, BYU’s women’s basketball team takes a road trip to southern California to battle the Long Beach State 49ers (2-6). Tip off is at 5:30 p.m. PT on Sat., Dec. 20.

The 49ers of Long Beach State have compiled a 2-6 overall record so far this year. They return 13 letterwinners and four starters. Two players who have started in all games during the 2008-09 campaign are scoring in double figures for LBSt. Courtney Jacob, a 5-11 junior forward, tops the list with 11.4 points and 6.1 rebounds. Fellow junior Whitney Fields follows with 11.1 points and she grabs a team high 7.8 boards per game. Head Coach Mary Hegarty is in her sixth season with the 49ers.
