Cougars to participate in The Gold Rush for first spring event

PROVO, Utah — In its first spring tournament, BYU women's golf will compete in The Gold Rush played at Old Ranch Country Club and hosted by Long Beach State on Feb. 27-28.

BYU looks to garner its third first-place finish of the 2016-17 season on the par-72 6,115-yards course.

In the 2015-16 season, BYU finished in fifth place at The Gold Rush, with Alexandra White and Rose Huang both placing in the top 20.

The Cougars will compete alongside 13 institutions—Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Idaho, Long Beach State, Montana, Nevada, Ole Miss, San Jose State, Santa Clara, UC Irvine and UC Riverside.

First and second round action will take place on Feb. 27, followed by final round play concluding on Feb. 28. Both days will begin with a 9 a.m. MST shotgun start.
