BOISE -- The No. 27 Cougars wrapped up play in fourth place at the Bronco Fall Invitational hosted by Boise State University Tuesday.
The BYU White team had three top-20 finishes at the tournament that led the team to the fourth-place finish out of 17 teams.
Freshman Hannah Summerhays finished in fourth place overall at the Invitational. Summerhays had her best round of 70 during the tournament. Freshman Camille Garner finished 17th, and senior Alexis Edwards finished 20th.
"We had a pretty good showing for our team," said assistant coach Dave DeSantis. "It was a good chance to show what we can do."
While the BYU White team finished up the Bronco Invitational, the BYU Blue team is still competing at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Seattle.
The Blue team is currently in sixth place at the Invitational. BYU is currently ahead of top ranked teams, UNLV and University of Washington.
Senior Rachel Newren is currently leading the Cougars. Newren is tied for 10th place in the Invitational. Freshman Daphne Vines is currently in 16th.
"Our team is not playing as well as we can," said head coach Sue Nyhus about the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. "We have high hopes for tomorrow, we are going to go in and fight it out one more round. We hope to see positive results as an effect."
The Cougar Blue team will finish the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational Wednesday. Live stats will be posted on Golfstat.com throughout the day. Both the Cougar Blue and White teams will compete again at the Lady Aztec Invitational Oct. 16 -17.
