PROVO, Utah - Brittni Hawes and Natasha Trejo Marsh were named Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Bars and Beam Specialists of the Week, respectively.
“One thing I talked to the whole team about was really attacking in their routines,” head coach Guard Young said. “That’s what these girls’ performances were on Friday.”
Hawes posted her second 9.925 of the season while earning her second honor as MRGC Bars Specialist of the Week. Marsh matched her career high on beam as she received her second 9.900 on the event this season. This is her first honor as an MRGC Specialist of the Week.
Both Hawes and Marsh held the highest scores for their events during the meet against Utah State. Their scores helped the Cougars come out on top against the Aggies on Friday night, 196.200 to 196.100.
No. 21 BYU competes against No. 11 Oregon State tonight, Monday, March 5, before returning home for a quad meet on Friday. Tonight's meet at Gill Coliseum is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. PT/8 p.m. MST and live stats and live streaming will both be available.
