No. 18 BYU hits the road for meet against Boise State

PROVO, Utah - The No. 18 BYU Cougars head to the ExtraMile Arena in Boise, Idaho, to face MRGC rival No. 24 Boise State on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m. MST.

Most recently, BYU invited Boise State to the Smith Fieldhouse on Saturday, Feb. 5 for an afternoon meet against the Broncos. The Cougars won their second home meet of the season, notching a 196.700 over Boise State’s 196.525. The Cougars currently hold a three-meet winning streak over the Broncos.

THE COUGARS. Currently ranked No. 18, BYU posted a 196.700-196.525 win over the Broncos in week five, notching eight career-high scores. The Cougars brought home four MRGC accolades in week five, including two by senior Sadie Miner-Van Tassell. Miner-Van Tassell competed for the All-Around against the Broncos and posted a new career-high score of 39.475. Elease Rollins notched a 9.950 on beam to take home the title and post a new career high. 

THE BRONCOS. BSU jumped 11 spots in the national rankings after its performance against BYU in the Smith Fieldhouse. Currently ranked No. 24, the Broncos reached a new season-high score of 196.525 in their meet on Saturday, Feb. 5. Fifth-year senior Emily Muhlenhaput shared the podium with BYU’s Haley Pitou on bars with individual scores of 9.925, earning both athletes MRGC co-bars specialist of the week honors.
