Cougars Head to Minnesota

PROVO -- Back on the road after a successful weekend at Denver, the BYU women’s tennis team is gearing up for matchups with Minnesota and No. 55 North Carolina State this weekend.

The Cougars (4-3) will face Minnesota Friday at 6 p.m. in Minneapolis and North Carolina State Saturday at 1 p.m.

BYU (4-3) is undefeated on the road, holding a 4-0 road record.

Freshman Callie Craig holds the lead for the Cougars with 15 wins for the season. Team captain Megan Price has 13 wins, and together the No. 77 duo has 15 doubles victories.

In the lead for Minnesota is Natallia Pintusava with a 14-8 record. Pintusava and Magdalena Wiecha are 7-5 in doubles and Alessandra Ferrazzi and Alexa Palen are 8-9 for Minnesota.

North Carolina State boasts two ranked singles players, with Sanaa Bhambri ranked No. 23 and Sandhya Nagaraj ranked No. 76. The pair is also ranked in doubles at No. 7.

The Cougars will be on the road once more next week for matches against Fresno State and UC Irvine.
