No. 19 Cougars stay on the road for more WCC action

PROVO, Utah – The No. 19 BYU women’s volleyball team continues conference play on the road this week as they take on Pacific and Saint Mary’s on Thursday and Saturday.

The Cougars (16-3, 9-0 WCC) extended their winning streak to 12-straight matches last week with wins on the road against Portland and Gonzaga. BYU continues to be the sole undefeated team in West Coast Conference play.

The Cougars will face Pacific (11-9, 4-5 WCC) on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m. PDT at the Alex G. Spanos Center in Stockton, Calif. BYU swept Pacific in Provo this season and is 5-7 all-time against the Tigers.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, the Cougars take on Saint Mary’s (11-6, 7-2 WCC) at 2:30 p.m. PDT at the McKeon Pavilion in Moraga, Calif. The Gaels were unable to take down BYU in five sets during their first matchup of the season in Provo. The Cougars are 5-6 overall against Saint Mary’s.

BYU is ranked in the AVCA Coaches Poll for the third consecutive week and the fifth week of the season.

Thursday’s match against Pacific will be broadcast live on ESPNU. This is the Cougars' second match of the year to be broadcast on the ESPN Family of Networks, having previously played Pepperdine on ESPNU on Oct. 3.
