Two spikers named Academic All-WCC

PROVO, Utah – Two BYU women’s volleyball players were named to the Academic All-West Coast Conference team Wednesday for maintaining academic excellence while being significant contributors to their team.

BYU’s sophomore libero Ciara Parker and junior defensive specialist Tia Withers Welling received the honors.

Parker, who leads the team with 3.78 digs per set, made the team with a 3.64 GPA in her exercise and wellness major.

Welling helps the Cougars averaging 2.74 digs per set while majoring in P.E. teaching/coaching and maintaining a 3.79 GPA. This is the second consecutive year that Welling has made the list.
