LaVell Edwards Stadium
Roar of the Cougars
When you step onto the field at LaVell Edwards Stadium, you don’t just play against 11 defenders—you face the full force of the Roar of the Cougars. The ROC isn’t just there to watch the game—they impact it, averaging 120 decibels each game. In 2021, their deafening roar forced four consecutive false starts against a ranked Arizona State, proving why they’re often called "the 12th man on the field." With LaVell Edwards Stadium ranking among the loudest in college football, athletes don’t just get to play the game—they get to experience one of the most intense atmospheres in the sport.
Beyond the noise, the ROC is built on tradition. Just before kickoff, thousands of students lock in and sway back and forth to Kanye West’s "Power", igniting the stadium and setting the tone for dominance. Then, at the start of the third quarter, "Turbulence" takes over, keeping the energy sky-high and ensuring the Cougars finish strong. The ROC is filled with the most passionate and loyal fans in the country, decked out in royal blue; there’s no better place than BYU. The ROC is waiting—are you ready to feel the roar?
The Tunnel
Led with smoke and flags, the tunnel run-out gets both the crowd and the players pumped, just minutes before kick-off.
Cougar Walk
Just a few hours before kick-off, thousands of fans roam Cougar Boulevard listening to live music, eating from food trucks, and playing games. As the team buses pull-up, fans line the walkway leading into the stadium, hoping to be able to greet and wish the players and coaches good luck before they step onto the field.
