LAS CRUCES -- After winning the New Mexico State Invitational with a 5-0 record last weekend, three Cougars, sophomore Lauren Watson, junior Oli Keohohou, and freshman Ianeta Lei, were named to the All-Tournament Team, Sunday.
Sophomore catcher Lauren Watson led the tournament with a .625 batting average. She went 10-16 from the plate and scored six runs, hit four RBI, three doubles, and one home run.
Junior outfielder Oli Keohohou went 9-15 (.600) with seven runs, seven RBI, two triples, and three home runs. Freshman Ianeta Lei went 5-15 (.333) with three RBI and three runs scored including several clutch hits for the Cougars to keep a perfect record.
BYU will host rival Utah this Saturday at Gail Miller Field in a doubleheader starting at noon. The meeting will be the first conference games of the season. Movie night at Miller Park featuring Disney's "The Rookie" will start at 8:30 p.m. with admission at two dollars a person.
