PORTSMOUTH -- Travis Hansen helped his team earn a spot in the championship game of the Portsmouth Invitational with a 97-83 semifinal victory Friday. Featuring 64 of the nation's top seniors, the Portsmouth Invitational concludes Saturday.
Hansen had nine points, seven rebounds, three assists and one block in his 15 minutes of action Friday in Norfolk Navel Shipyard's win over Portsmouth Sports Club. Navel Shipyard took an 18-point advantage at the half and maintained a strong lead in the final 20 minutes.
Weber State's Jermaine Boyette led Sports Club with 26 points on 11-of-15 shooting.
Hansen and his teammates compete for the Portsmouth Invitational title Saturday against Sales Systems Limited. Among the players competing for Sales Systems are San Diego State guard Tony Bland, University of San Diego center Jason Keep and former New Mexico guard Marlon Parmer.
