Friday Game Off, Now a DH on Saturday

PROVO -- Friday's baseball game between BYU and New Mexico in Provo has been postponed until Saturday.

"Our field was wet and we decided to call it because of expected rains continuing through the evening," said BYU Coach Vance Law.

The two teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m., on Saturday. The format will be seven and nine-inning ball games as per conference rules.

Plans for the 1983 team reunion remain as scheduled except that the team will be honored in the bottom of the fifth inning of game one, with an autograph session for the fans being held between games on the mezzanine level.

The Cougars are 17-17 overall and 9-7 in league play following Thursday's loss to UNM, while the Lobos are now 27-15 and 10-6.
