SAN DIEGO -- Two-time All-American Oli Keohohou was named Mountain West Conference Co-Player of the Year along with Colorado State's Steph Roberts to highlight the conference awards banquet preceding the MWC Tournament. Senior Brooke Cadiente, sophomore Lauren Watson, and freshman Neta Lei also made the All-MWC Team for the first time in their careers.
Keohohou has an MWC-leading .445 batting average. She also leads the Mountain West in slugging percentage (1.059), on base percentage (.610), runs scored (55), RBI (45), home runs (19), total bases (126) and walks (50). Nationally, she currently ranks second in home runs, 14th in batting average and 22nd in RBI. Keohohou made the All-MWC for her third consecutive season.
Senior Beooke Cadiente was named to the All-MWC team for the first time in her career. As a sophomore, Cadiente did not make the team but later won the MWC Tournament MVP award and went on to receive First-team All-West Region honors. Last season, Cadiente was named to the 2002 MWC Tournament Team and has received MWC Player of the Week three times in her career.
Sophomore Lauren Watson and freshman Neta Lei were named to the All-MWC team for the first time in there careers. Watson, a lead-off catcher/outfielder, hit .368 on the season to go with nine home runs, a team-high 57 hits and 31 RBI. Lei, a native of Hawaii, hit .365 with seven home runs, 50 hits, and 36 RBI. Last week, Lei hit three home runs, including a grand slam against Southern Utah.
