Second Annual Golf Tournament

Several former BYU baseball players are returning to participate in a second annual golf tournament hosted by the Cougars.

This year's tournament is being held over two days at the Ranches Golf Course at Eagle Mountain, Oct. 9-10.

The Oct. 9 portion of the golf tournament is the Dave Nelson IV Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament. Nelson, a former BYU baseball player from 1973-75, passed away last October. Nelson, whose brothers and son also played at BYU, was a former coach at BYU and Utah Valley State College. The price for a foursome in this scholarship benefit is $500.

On Oct. 10 there will be an alumni golf tournament for former BYU baseball players, also at The Ranches. Among those who have committed to play are Ryan Adams, Shane Belliston, Lars Birkland, Rod Cloward, Paul Cluff, Scott DeLong, Brad Eagar, Mike Espiritu, Ryan Hancock, Brent Howes, Dane Iorg, Dave Jensen, Dave Madsen, Cory Snyder, Jake Stubblefield, Murphy Su'a, Ed Zinter as well as current coaches Vance Law and Ryan Roberts. Last year there were 118 former BYU baseball players who returned to play in the golf tournament.

There may also be an Alumni Baseball Game on Oct. 11.

Those interested in playing in the golf tournaments or the baseball game may contact Ryan Roberts, BYU assistant coach, at 801-378-5048.
