JV Team Defeats Georgia Military, 17-7

Jackson Brown passed for 224 yards and two touchdowns to lead the BYU JV team past Georgia Military College, 17-7, Saturday at Provo High School.

The Cougars overcame three turnovers deep in the Bulldogs' territory and a seven-point deficit to earn the victory.

Georgia Military scored the game's first touchdown on a 45-yard pass from Joe Riner to Aundrae Allison near the end of the first quarter to take an early 7-0 lead.

But BYU would charge back to tie the score at seven after Brown hit Ryan Slater for a 10-yard touchdown. Brown and Slater hooked up five times in the game for 93 yards and the score.

The Cougars would add a field goal by Forrest Hansen to take a 10-7 lead in the third quarter. BYU's final score came in the fourth quarter on a 25-yard pass from Brown to tight end Jeremy Gillispie.

BYU's defense held the Bulldogs to just 197 total yards and sacked Riner eight times, including three by Nate Preston.
