PROVO -- The television schedule for BYU men's basketball will give the Cougars significant national exposure in 2003-04.
Twenty of BYU's 27 regular-season games will be televised this season, including 15 games that will be available nationally on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN Full Court. All games of the Mountain West Conference Tournament in Denver will also be televised on either ESPN or ESPN Regional Television (ESPN+Plus).
Nine regular-season games are part of the 2003-04 MWC television package with ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN+Plus and ABC. After two national ESPN2 and three ESPN+Plus regular-season appearances last year, this season BYU will be featured four times on ESPN, once each on ESPN2 and ABC and three times on ESPN+Plus.
The Cougars play ESPN Big Monday games on the road at New Mexico (Jan. 26) and Colorado State (Feb. 16) and host San Diego State (Feb. 9) and Utah (Mar. 1) in the MWC's featured national matchup. BYU also travels to play North Carolina State (Jan. 7) in a national ESPN2 broadcast.
SportsWest Productions will produce an additional 10 BYU games, including four nonconference contests beginning with Wednesday's matchup at California. Including the Utah State game (Dec. 23), which will be broadcast locally on KJZZ-TV, six nonconference games will be televised.
All of BYU's MWC games will be available live nationally either on ESPN or pay-per-view on ESPN Full Court. BYU's league games on ESPN+Plus, SportsWest and ABC are all on the ESPN Full Court schedule this season. Cougar fans can also see replay broadcasts of all SportsWest games on BYU Television. Including BYU Television replays and the ESPN Full Court package, BYU fans out of the local broadcast area have the opportunity to see 19 regular-season games this year, 15 of which will be available live.
