PROVO -- The BYU men's tennis team will forego their trip to the Southern California Intercollegiate this week as doubles team Jose Lechuga and Nima Roshan will compete in the National Indoor Playoff in Monroe, Mich. Nov. 5-9.
Lechuga and Roshan defeated teammates Erik Nyman and Richard Dasek in the final draw of the men's doubles circuit to win the ITA/Omni Hotel Regional Championship in Las Vegas Oct. 25.
With the win, Roshan and Lechuga qualified to advance to the National Indoor Championship hosted by the University of Michigan this weekend.
The entire men's tennis team will compete in the National Team Indoor Qualifier Nov. 15 hosted by Boise State. The Cougars will face off against teams from Boise State, Colorado and New Mexico. The winning team from the qualifier will go on to represent Region 7 in the National Team Indoor Championship in Washington D.C. in February.
