Cougar Club to co-sponsor Thomas Kinkade Art Exhibit

Thomas Kinkade (America's Most Collected Artist) is touring the country celebrating his 20th Anniversary as the "Painter of Light." Kinkade will be in Orem on February 27, to meet his many collectors and to share his talents and insights about his future.

Sponsored by the University Mall's Kinkade Garden Gallery and the BYU Cougar Club, Kinkade will be at Mountain View High School (645 West Center in Orem, UT) from 7-9 pm on the evening of February 27. As part of the event, Kinkade will do a remarque on his painting the "Bridge of Hope," which will then be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the charity "Children with Cancer Christmas Foundation."

BYU Head Basketball Coach Steve Cleveland, a Kinkade collector himself, will attend the event and represent the Children with Cancer Christmas Foundation. Coach Cleveland is the charity's honorary chairman.

The Kinkade Gallery is also helping to "Light the Y," presenting 12 of Kinkade's works of art from which significant proceeds will be contributed to the BYU Athletic Department if they are sold at or prior to the event. More than 30 total Kinkade works will be featured that evening. At the event the Kinkade Gallery will also offer a limited number of Thomas Kinkade 2004 Calendars (retail value $14.95) to any participant who makes a contribution of any amount to BYU Athletics.

At the event Kinkade will talk about the pieces of art on display, describing his inspiration and thought behind each painting. He will also sign certificates for those collectors who have purchased Limited Edition Canvases in the past, and he will sign all paintings on display which are purchased that evening. As an added bonus, Glen Ricks Photography will utilize its state-of-the-art equipment to take photos of attendees who purchase art that night. These photos, taken with Mr. Kinkade, will be available before the end of the event so that they can be autographed by the artist.

The Thomas Kinkade Garden Gallery is located in the University Mall and is Utah's only Kinkade Signature Gallery. The art pieces that will be featured at the event may be previewed at the Gallery, or on-line at www.cougarclub.com/kinkade.

The Cougar Club thanks Glazies Donuts for providing refreshments for the event.
