PROVO -- The BYU women's soccer team opens up its Spring Home Schedule this weekend with the BYU Indoor Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 1:30 p.m.
Attending the Indoor Invitational is Utah, Utah State, Dixie College, Weber State and UVSC.
This is the first time the Cougars have been able to host such an invitational during the spring months of training allowed by the NCAA.
"We are very excited to play a full-field scrimmage," said head coach Jennifer Rockwood. "There are few places where you can that this time of the year."
The Cougars played last week two games last week in Las Vegas where the played to a 1-1 tie with UC Riverside and a 3-0 win over UNLV.
"I am looking forward to building on the success we had this last weekend," said Rockwood. "It is a tremendous advantage to have the opportunity to train in a facility like we have."
The Cougars play Dixie at 1:30 p.m., Weber State at 4:30 p.m. and Utah State at 9:30 p.m.
Also of note is the return of defender Rachelle Dixon who is back with the Cougars after serving a church mission. "Rachelle played as if she had never missed a beat," said Rockwood. "She brings a sense of maturity to our team and did a great job of keeping herself in shape before she came home."
