PROVO -- Brittany Davis, a freshman swimmer from Magna, Utah and Cyprus High School has been named the February Deseret Book/BYU Female Athlete of the Month.
Davis placed first in the 500 free and 200 back and second in the 100 back at this year's MWC championships held in Oklahoma City. In the competition she broke the BYU record in both the 200 and 100 back and the MWC record in the 200 back. Her 200-backstroke time of 1:58.00 was also an NCAA qualifying mark.
Davis also anchored the 400 medley relay team to a first place finish and the 200, 400, and 800 free relays to second place finishes at the MWC championships. The BYU women's swimming team clinched their fifth straight MWC title last month.
During the first week of February, Davis was named MWC Player of the Week.
