New Football Season-Ticket Sales Booming

PROVO -- Shortly after opening for business on Tuesday, BYU ticket office manager David Miles reported that the ticket office has sold 2,650 football season tickets in just over three business days.

Miles said that figure includes season-ticket renewals, as well as 660 new season ticket orders.

"In my 15 years working in the ticket office, we have never been this busy during the first few days of season-ticket sales," Miles said. "Having sold 660 new season tickets in just over three days of business is incredible. Based on season-ticket sales, it is obvious that people are excited about the upcoming season."

According to marketing director Tony Jewkes, BYU is on pace to fulfill over 1,000 new season ticket orders by the middle of next week. Jewkes said BYU is expecting pace to sellout of its allotment of season tickets.

Athletics director Val Hale said fans thinking of waiting to buy single-game tickets should consider buying season tickets in order to guarantee a ticket for each of the Cougars' six home games.

"I would advise people not to wait until the last minute to buy their tickets to the USC and Notre Dame games," Hale said. "If they wait to buy tickets just for those two games, there is a good chance they will be out of luck.

"The best thing I can tell people, because of the great deal of interest in our home schedule, is to buy season-tickets now. That is the only way they are guaranteed to have tickets for these two marquee games, as well as the rest of our exciting home schedule."

Fans interested in purchasing or renewing season tickets may contact the Marriott Center Ticket office at (800) 322-BYU1 or (801) 422-BYU1. Season tickets can also be purchased online at www.byutickets.com.
