Tennis Standout Nyman Drops Matches at NCAA's

PROVO, Utah (May 28, 2004) At the NCAA Individual Tennis Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, BYU's Eric Nyman lost in the first round of singles play, Thursday.

Nyman, a senior from Upsala, Sweden lost to the No. 16 seeded and No. 10th ranked Alex Slovic from the University of Washington in a hard fought three set match, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6.

In the doubles individual competition, Nyman teamed up with teammate Nima Roshan, losing in the first round to Colin O'Grady and Roger Matalonga from the University of Arizona, again in three sets 6-7, 6-4, 6-3. The Arizona duo was ranked 24th nationally.
