Five Softball Players Named to Spring 2004 Academic All-Mountain West Conference Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The MWC announced the Spring 2004 Academic All-Mountain West Conference Team July 14. Among the BYU student-athletes announced are seniors Kate Walker and Belinda Osborn, junior Debbie Dodds, and sophomores Jennifer Whiteley and Brook Boyce.

-Kate Walker has a 3.30 GPA majoring in fitness and wellness management

-Belinda Osborn has a 3.49 GPA majoring in RMYL leisure service management

-Debbie Dodds has a 3.20 GPA majoring in public school teaching PE

-Jennifer Whiteley has a 3.62 GPA with an open major

-Brooke Boyce has a 3.02 GPA with an open major

A total of 622 student-athletes were named 2004 Spring Semester Academic All-Mountain West Conference. To be eligible for selection student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.

On the field BYU will miss both Walker and Osborn but with a strong nucleus returning for the 2005 season and talented newcomers, the Cougars look to improve an already accomplished squad.
