PROVO -- BYU football fans will get their first chance to meet the 2004 Cougars at the first annual Deseret Morning News Cougar Kickoff on Thursday, Aug. 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m. (MT) at the Indoor Practice Facility.
BYU fans are encouraged to bring the entire family to meet and interact with coaches and members of this year's football team. The BYU women's volleyball team, women's soccer team and cross country teams will also be on hand. The 2004 Cheer Squad and Cosmo will also be in attendance, providing fun, interactive games and activities for fans of all ages. The 2004 BYU Football poster will also be available, along with opportunities to get autographs from players and coaches.
Tours will also be given at Legacy Hall and in the Student Athlete Building. The Hall, which is scheduled for completion later this summer, showcases the history and tradition of the BYU Athletic program. It features the BYU Athletic Hall of Fame, significant national awards, All-Americans, highlights from the various sports.
The BYU Athletic department will also be holding a "Cougar Sale" that will include some vintage and new merchandise available for fans to gear up for the Cougars' season-opener on Sept. 4 against Notre Dame. Concessions stands will be open at the event where fans can purchase a number of great food items.
Admittance to the Deseret Morning News Cougar Kickoff event will be free.
