PROVO -- BYU women's softball out-hit Dixie College in their last fall game to take a 14-0 lopsided victory.
The Cougars came out hitting right away in the first inning highlighted by two back-to-back home runs, a grand slam by sophomore Jodi Norton and a solo home run by senior Debbie Dodds. The next Dodds at-bat in the third inning resulted in a three-run home run.
Freshman Daniella Urincho started at pitcher for BYU with junior Brooke Boyce, senior Niki Anderson and junior Summer Tobias pitching two innings apiece.
The last inning of the game saw three back-to-back-to-back home runs by junior Neta Le`i, Anderson, and second one for Norton.
BYU's regular season schedule begins Friday, February 4, 2005, vs. Southern Utah, in St. George at 2 p.m.
