PROVO -- Junior forward Jaime Rendich was named to the Second Team All-West Region by Soccer Buzz and the Third Team All-West Region by NSCAA/Adidas. Rendich was a bright spot for the Cougars in her best season thus far, leading the team with nine goals and 21 points on the season.
Named to the All-MWC first team and MWC Tournament team in November, Rendich was the first player to score in seven different games for BYU and scored the game-winning goal four times. She also led the MWC in goals and assists and second in shots with 65.
"This honor is very well deserved for Jaime," said head coach Jennifer Rockwood. "By the end of the year, she was a dominant force and did not go unnoticed by the opposing teams. Jaime really stood out and played well for us this year."
Despite suffering its first losing season in ten years with a 7-11-4 record, BYU finished in second place in the Mountain West Conference with a 3-1-2 record. Rendich and the Cougars set out on the 2005 season with high hopes and expectations of playing sharpe-enough by conference time to bring home a fifth MWC championship in seven years.
