PROVO -- In their first real test of the season, the 25th ranked women's tennis team hosts the 10th ranked University of Washington Huskies, Saturday at 11am.
The Cougars will play the Huskies in the second game of a two-day tournament hosted by BYU this weekend. Friday January 21st at 11 am, the team will opens up play against Washington State, followed by the University of Washington on Saturday.
In the season opener last week, the Cougars barely showed signs of rust as they blasted Weber State 7-0. The match highlighted freshman Anastasia Sourkova first game as a Cougar as she sat out the fall nursing an injury, and a nearly two-hour long singles match marathon won by Cougar Hadley McFarlane. The Washington Huskies will prove to test the athletic ability and strength of the Cougar team early in the season.
The Cougars are 1-0 on the year.
