Question: Your dunk in the Air Force game last year made the No. 1 play on ESPN Sports Center that night. Did you think it was that good?
Answer: People say it was one of the best plays ever. People still talk to me about it. I think it was just one of those plays that turned the game around. I didn't think it was that big of a deal.
Question: What does your 3-year-old son think of your playing basketball? Does he even understand what you're doing?
Answer: He understands exactly what I'm doing. He knows I play basketball. He knows I'm away at school. When the games are on TV, he watches them. When I talk to him, he knows what I do.
Question: Does he like basketball?
Answer: I'm actually trying to get him to shoot a little bit. I guess he's starting to shoot some. I don't know what sport he's going to like. He's just at the age where he likes to play with anything. He can play with a spoon and be entertained. I just want him to do what's fun for him. I like basketball because it's fun for me. He should do whatever's fun for him.
Question: What do you say when people tell you you're supposed to be the go-to-guy this year?
Answer: I'm not even worried about. I think if I go out and do what I did last year and play hard, everything's going to work out. I'm not worried about that, I just want to play basketball and win games.
Question: How did it feel to be named the Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year?
Answer: It shows how much hard work pays off. We had a lot of good defenders in the league last year, so to have that award is nice.
Question: You worked a lot on your shooting over the summer. Why?
Answer: Last year I was pretty much a slasher. Some teams wouldn't respect my shot. I wanted to add something new to my game. I didn't want to be a one-dimensional player. I wanted to be a double threat.
Question: What's your favorite childhood memory of basketball?
Answer: Just playing streetball, playing in the streets with my friends. I wish I could do it right now.
Question: What's your best quality as a basketball player?
Answer: I think I just love playing the game. To be successful I think you need to love what you're doing. I love basketball.
Question: What does the future hold for you?
Answer: I hope good things. Hopefully I can follow in Hoffa and Travis' footsteps. If I end up playing in the NBA, which I want to do, or if I play overseas that's okay. I just want to keep playing.
